COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) informs the therapeutic process by actively examining how our thoughts, emotions, and behavior affect one another.  Exploring how we think, what we feel, and what we do provides insight into our negative thought patterns that impede our ability to respond in an effective way.  Learning to reframe negative thinking can help improve how we feel and experience life and relationships.

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness practice is a quality of paying attention to our habits of mind, speech, and behavior that develops into our becoming more at ease with the way things are, rather than for how we wish them to be.  Mindfulness moves us toward tolerating discomfort rather than trying to escape from it.  These techniques can be used either formally or informally in therapy and in life.   Well-being and living with ease is explored deeply and influenced by Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, and Eastern thought.

meditation

Meditation practice helps decrease reactivity in the nervous system, promotes resiliency, fosters self-compassion and acceptance, and has positive impacts on emotional regulation areas of the brain. Meditation instruction and support is part of Mindfulness Meditation Therapy. https://christine-sorrentimassaia-is5w.squarespace.com/therapyserviceslexingtonma

PSYCHODYNAMIC

Dynamic work explores how the past affects present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This approach places emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a means of transforming relational patterns and affirming ways to be authentic.
